Announcement: SCAM Alert!

Beware: U.S. government agencies will not call you for information.

Government agencies such as USCIS, ICE, SEVP, and Social Security DO NOT call people or send unsolicited email messages. It is a scam tactic used to collect personal information, money, or both.

A common example of a scam is receiving a phone call telling you that your Social Security number was used in an odd location and may have been compromised.  The caller then tells you to press a button on your phone to connect with someone who can help you fix this.  This is a scam!  Hang up! If a real person calls and you do not feel comfortable hanging up, you can ask the caller to send the request in writing via email. Never give the person money to resolve a perceived issue, no matter how real the request sounds.
